Finding our main location for Sharons music video shoot has proven to be really difficult, we needed a theatre or at least a place with a stage and controllable lights. We looked through our options and got in contact with the place we thought would be most appropriate which was the my local arts centre (cic cic, Taunton). We hadn't received much of a reply for a while and when we did we kept getting put through to different members of staff, eventually we got hold of a manager who said yes we can film their but not until the February half term. The deadline for my project is the beginning of March and the February half term is right at the end of the month meaning this doesn't at the moment look very useful to us, however the staff have agreed to be extras for the scene where the place is full and their technicians have agreed to help with lighting so other than the dates what they have offered is perfect. I discussed (see below) with Sharon that if we are really stuck we could film using the location at those dates but we would need to have the rest of the film shot and put together before then so that in my last week before mt submission I could just focus on adding the last bits to the edit. I however do not really want the project to come to do this and I would be really worried that the need to work so quickly would effect the quality of the finished product this also wouldn't allow me to do any drafts I would only get one shot at it. We have currently shelved the idea as a last option but are looking into other local theatres, Sharon volunteers at her local theatre in strode but I have explained I have no way of travelling over there as I do not currently drive. This left Sharon feeling like I wasn't really committed to the project, so I suggested a couple of other closer theatres those being the Brewhouse in Taunton and the McMillan theatre in Bridgwater both are more accessible to me than Strode. I have contacted those theatres and now await their responses however we then have the issue of getting extras to that can get to those locations. I am at the point now where I really need to get a location settled as soon as possible as I ca not do anymore work on the project until we can conform that we have our location. We currently have our back up plan and are going tp message around to see if there is a theatre we can use sooner. If a similar project was to come up again I would make sure I contact all possible locations well in advance of filming as this not only opens up more opportunity's it means there is no stress like there is when we are coming to shoot and do not have a location.
