This artist study will be fairly brief as the focus of his work isn't mental health but what Willie does do is create powerful video based art installations. Willies work explores the history of specific small areas particularly in Northern Ireland where he is from. He uses a mix of photography and handheld camera footage with a voice over audio track to explain the events that took place in the area that is being seen.
His most notable works are Ghost story (2007) and Buried (2009). These are two pieces that are filmed in different parts of the same area with Willies commentary over the top talking about how he used to feel about these area or what happened to him in these areas during the events of the IRA. What his works showed me again was that an impactful art piece doesn't have to cost loads of money to produce and can be made quite simply its just about having an original and creative idea.
