Instagram differs from other social media sites and its content is almost all photo and video based, Instagram is also the second most downloaded free app in the apple app store. 63% of Instagram users log in ever single day and 500 million people use Instagram stories every single day making it a prime place to target people with adverts. Instagram's potential advertising reach is 849.3 Million users and it is the third best social media site for reaching younger people with a potential reach of 52.9 Million teenagers that is only beaten by Facebook and snap chat. Brands post an average of 2.5 stories a week to Instagram and that makes sense when 1/3rd of the most viewed stories on the site are from businesses. 60% of the businesses that use Instagram stories put interactive element on there story every month. As well as this due to Instagram stories having such a short time limit 85% of business published stories are watched in full. These stats show how useful Instagram can be when trying to reach potential customers and specifically how important it is to use Instagram stories.
Sky Sports Germany are a big example of a company that has been able to grow their reach just by using Instagram and in particularly Instagram stories. For example 70,000 more people now think of sky sports when they think of the premier league. Between July 24th and August 2nd 2019 Sky sports Germany managed to 5.6% increase in ad recall and a 75% decrease in cost per person for advertising.
