Google Slides Test

Tom

The way my teacher constructed his piece was by using HTML code and building it into his website to get his selection of videos to work the exact way he wanted to. I however don't know code so I have to look into alternatives, those mainly being just just using to upload the videos to there and then copying the link to the videos onto a website. The first website builder I looked at (see below) was google sites as although its not the most professional website builder it does have some useful features compared to other sites when putting video onto it. The main pro of google sites I have found is that you can work on the site as one continuous document which allows me to keep adding videos without changing the page the videos are on. This is exactly what I need as I need a site builder where I can put multiple videos together in the same place. Google sites also allows for easy video placement via a URL link which makes things easy as well as having a grid like feature that allows you to put videos where you like (almost) and change the size of each video. The only issue I can really see with sites is that because of the way the grid works you can't put videos right next to each other and it can get temperamental about where you're putting each video. This is an issue because it means you cant put videos right next to each other for example and this makes it look less professional compared to the example piece I am working off where the videos are right next to each other and it gives the overall piece a crisp finish. The other issue it has is that there is no feature to keep each video looping through again once it has finished which is what I really need to happen in order to keep the piece flowing. This however is something my teacher is going to go over with me when I come to that point at a later date though.

In conclusion Google sites has pros and cons just like any website builder but I do feel I could create an Installation that has a similar impact to what the physical installation would have done using slides. I am going to look at other website builders but for now I am thinking google slides is likely to be the one I use as its easy to use and fairly effective.
