FMP Back up idea

Updated: May 1, 2020

In light of recent events regarding the corona virus many places like unis are closing so in order to still be able to submit something I am looking at taking my project online. I want to keep it as similar to how the physical product would have been as I can.

At first I was unsure how I could make an art installation exclusively online and make it the same quality as a physical installation but when I actually thought about things I remembered the piece of art that first sparked my creativity. My teacher showed me an online piece where he had embedded a number of YouTube videos onto a website and had them all playing together at the same time. Using this idea I can still make an installation that has the same effect of being overwhelming and creating the effect of having your problems getting onto of you to an audience member but make it online only. I am going to look into how I can construct a piece like the my teachers but he made his using code and embedding the code into a website however I don't know how to code so I will be looking at alternatives via website builders like here on wix and google sites to see which is the best to create a project like this on. As well as the format of my project having to change I am also unlikely to be able to work with actors unless this can be done via recorded web link which I am going to look into doing. I wanted actors to be able to play the roles of a counsellor and a parent for the smaller screen clips but worse case scenario I can make the clips just with me and my mum and I can look into how I can make that more creative. Other than that the basis of what I am trying to achieve with my project wont need to change and I can still have a video in the middle which can just be music for the safe space area.

In conclusion things will potentially be back to normal after Easter and if so I will continue with my original plan but right now I am going to aim to be focusing on this online piece until further notice.
